I was just a wee one when it happened but I do remember watching it on the black and white TV set we had.
Seems right to post this black and white shot from my Holga held up to the eyepiece of my telescope.
It's kind of grainy and a bit blurred...just like my memory of it all....
Margaret and I watched the event along with a few friends in my fourth floor walkup in Manhattan's Lower East Side. At the time, I thought it was a marvelous technological achievement as well as a demonstration of almost unimaginable courage. These days I find myself wishing that humanity would forego putting any more footprints there.
