a camera never forgets

This is from earlier this year on a trip to Tucumcari for the night. There's a nice little section of old route 66 through Santa Rosa, NM which is on the way. We are still restricted for travel out of state due to the pandemic, but New Mexico has many great places to visit that are less than a tank of gas away.

An older Holga with some HP5 dunked in caffenol does the trick.

This photo has made me rethink my approach to photography.  I'm not ready to divulge what that is because it's still in the bubbly primordial thought process.... when I get ready to come out of the goo, I'll write about it here.

it's code....for cows

I'm certain this is a brand mark for the ranch...but I'm puzzled about what it could mean....
Some ranch brands are obvious...like the rocking R, the Bar S or Lazy B...and so on. You see these often in Texas or New Mexico and Colorado and other ranch lands. My family had one in Texas and it was a stylized lettering of my Dad's intitial....CDS.
